Fort Hays State men’s cross country wrapped up the 2014 season with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional in Wayne, Neb. Isaac Williams led the Tigers with a 20th-place finish overall.
Fort Hays State had a team score of 347. Augustana (S.D.) won the meet with 28 points, Sioux Falls was second with 82, Missouri Southern was third with 93, and Minnesota State-Moorhead was fourth with 151. The top four teams move on to the NCAA Championships.
Williams was seventh among runners not on teams that qualified for the NCAA Championship. He crossed the finish line on the 10K course in 32:20. He was sixth among MIAA runners in the event. The top three individuals on non-qualifying teams move on to the national meet.
Troy Wineinger finished 49th in 33:27. Seth Parres was 86th in 34:16. Jake Spence was 95th in 34:35, and Jacob Thomas rounded out the scoring for FHSU in 101st with a time of 34:49.
