Fort Hays State hosts Lindenwood on Saturday (Jan. 27) at Gross Memorial Coliseum with tipoff at 4 pm. The Tigers enter at 11-7 overall, 5-5 in the MIAA, while the Lions are 14-9 overall, 4-7 in the MIAA.The Tigers are using Friday to recover from their two-point overtime win over Lincoln on Thursday evening. The Tigers are using Friday to recover from their two-point overtime win over Lincoln on Thursday evening. Rob Davis played 44 of the 45 minutes in the game, while Kyler Kinnamon put in 40 minutes on the floor. JaQuan Smith, logged 37 minutes, but gained his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Trey O’Neil logged 36 minutes in the overtime battle and has scored in double figures in each of the last three games.

Davis continues to led the team and MIAA in scoring at 23.6 points per game. He had 24 on Thursday night against Lincoln. He also leads the conference in 3-point field goal percentage, and ranks second in overall shooting percentage and free-throw percentage. Hadley Gillum, who scored the final four points for FHSU on Thursday, is the only other Tiger averaging double figures in scoring at 11.9 points per game.

The Lions have four players averaging double figures in scoring, led by sophomore Chandler Diekvoss at 15.1 points per game. Lindenwood enters on a three-game losing streak after falling to Nebraska-Kearney by four points on Thursday night.

The Tigers look to keep pace in the MIAA standings, just two games back of second place occupied by Central Missouri and Central Oklahoma at 7-3. After a perfect 10-0 record by Northwest Missouri State at the top of the standings and the marks of UCM and UCO, three teams are 6-4 and two are 6-5 in conference play. The race for second through fourth place in the standings heats up as the season jumps to February following Saturday’s contest.
