Men’s soccer posts second straight shutout

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Fort Hays State Men’s Soccer moved to 2-0 on the season with its second straight shutout to open the 2021 spring slate of exclusively GAC matches. The Tigers downed Ouachita Baptist 3-0 at Soldier Field, the home turf of Rogers State University, and have now outscored opponents 7-0 on the season.

Anotonio De La Torre opened the scoring for the Tigers about 20 minutes into the match. A few minutes later, Taisei Arima drew a foul in the box and received his second penalty kick of the season. He buried it to put the Tigers up 2-0, which is the score they led by at halftime.

Later in the second half, Kevin Black extended the lead with a header off of passes from Jonathan Gammelvind and Viktor Robertsson. The Tigers finished the game outshooting Ouachita Baptist 24-7.
