Brown receives D2CCA regional honors

Fort Hays State senior kicker Dante Brown received All-Super Region 3 First Team honors from the D2CCA on Friday (Dec. 6). He receives this distinction for a second-straight season. D2CCA awards are voted on by sports information and athletic communications professionals within Super Region 3.

Brown earned MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year each of the last two seasons. He averaged 1.72 field goals per game this year, succeeding on 19-of-23 attempts. He added in a school-record 52 PAT makes for 109 points for the season. He racked up 232 points over two years after collecting 123 in 2018. Brown earned All-America honors by the D2CCA, D2Football.com, and Don Hansen Football Committee last year as a kicker, including National Special Teams Player of the Year by the Don Hansen committee. He made 47 field goals and 91 PAT tries in his two years serving as the Tiger placekicker. He was also an All-America selection at punter in both 2017 and 2018 for the Tigers.
