The Fort Hays State women’s basketball team held on to the No. 5 spot in the WBCA Division II Coaches Poll and the third ranking in the D2SIDA Media Poll, announced Tuesday (Nov. 26). With the ballots going out late Sunday each week, Monday’s 106-22 win over Saint Mary is not reflected in the rankings.
Despite officially remaining 4-0 on the year, the Tigers climbed by 20 points in the coaches poll and 50 points in the media poll since last week.
After Monday’s victory, the Tigers are now 10-1 all-time when ranked fifth in the coaches poll, tied for the second-most wins at any spot in the poll.
Three other MIAA programs are receiving votes in the coaches poll, including Central Missouri, Emporia State and Central Oklahoma.
