Tigers Take On Griffons in St. Joseph Thursday

Fort Hays State looks to add to a two-game winning streak when it travels to Missouri Western on Thursday (Jan. 21) in St. Joseph. The Tigers enter the game at 13-4 overall and 7-4 in the MIAA while the Griffons are 5-12 overall and 3-8 in the MIAA. Game time is set for 7:30 pm at MWSU Fieldhouse.

The Tigers enter the game just one game back of the lead in the MIAA standings. Northwest Missouri State and Lindenwood are currently tied for first at 8-3. FHSU is currently in a tie for third with Lincoln and Missouri Southern.

Fort Hays State is coming off a pair of wins at home last week, most recently a 91-74 victory over Central Oklahoma. Rob Davis poured in a season-best effort of 36 points in the win, hitting 8-of-10 3-point field goals to earn MIAA Men’s Basketball Athlete of the Week honors. Davis now leads the team in scoring for the season at 17.8 points per game.

Dom Samac is the top rebounder on the team at 7.4 per game while adding 16.4 points per game. Jake Stoppel is averaging 11.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Craig Nicholson averages 10.4 points and 4.5 assists per game and is just 13 points shy of moving to eighth on the all-time scoring list at FHSU.
