Lincoln had to forfeit two of the matches with not enough players to fill the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles spots in the lineup.
The No. 1 doubles team of Camille Caron-Bedard and Reinette Strydom and the No. 2 doubles team of Brittney Ricci and Katie Hipp each won their matches by scores of 8-1. The No. 3 team of Michelle Miller and Jessica Johnson picked up the forfeit win, putting the Tigers up 3-0 heading into singles play.
FHSU took all but the No. 1 singles match to nearly blank the Blue Tigers. FHSU won at the No. 2 through No. 5 positions convincingly in straight sets. At No. 2, Ricci blanked Abigail Gober 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3, Miller won 6-0, 6-2 over Ashley Roling. At No. 4, Hipp blanked Yvonne Geldner 6-0, 6-0. At No. 5, Johnson defeated Christana Moore 6-0, 6-1. Raven Dick received the forfeit win for FHSU at No. 6.
Caron-Bedard was the only Tiger to fall in singles, but took her opponent Maeva Lesfargue the distance. After falling in the first set 7-5, Caron-Bedard bounced back to win the second in a tiebreak 7-6 (7-2). The third set was a battle as well, but Lesfargue prevailed 11-9.
The Tigers, now 8-7 overall and 1-5 in the MIAA, return to action for another conference match on Wednesday, April 1 against Emporia State in Hays at 2 p.m.
