The Fort Hays State Residence Hall Association is putting on “The Snow Globe Scramble” for FHSU students as they return for the Spring Semester. This event is a scavenger hunt which leads students around campus, taking a photo containing themselves at specific locations.

This event began yesterday and runs until noon today. A Google Form was emailed to students on Tuesday morning, providing clues to find each location.

An example of one of these locations is the Sky Bridge, as described in the clue: “Step above the hustle, where Tigers cross from one side to the other without touching the ground.”

After making their way to the Sky Bridge, Tigers would then take a photo of themselves with the ground or sky, out the window and upload a photo underneath the clue. Once a student accomplishes this for all 10 clues, they will have completed the challenge. 50 Tiger snow globe T-shirts are up for prizes for those who complete the scavenger hunt.

“Our hope for this is to get students involved,” said RHA member Madeline Byerly.

Byerly said it is a great way to get students back into the swing of school and get involved, whether returning to campus or arriving here for the first time.

“I personally know there are a lot of new students who are here for their first semester on campus, and this will let them come in and get more comfortable with finding their way around,” she said. “We also hope to build engagement in the community. Plus, everyone likes a free T-shirt!”

Midway through Tuesday, they had already received about 10 responses. Shirts can be picked up from the RHA office on Wednesday from 2-3:30 p.m. and on Thursday from 1-2:30 p.m.
