During Thursday’s Student Government Association meeting, FHSU President Tisa Mason provided the Senate with updates on the University.

Mason started by explaining the total economic impact FHSU has on Ellis County.

“We impact Ellis County alone, knowing we have others, $240 million annually,” she said.

Mason also spoke about FHSU’s enrollment numbers. In the fall 2024 semester, there were 16,922 students enrolled on campus, online and in FHSU’s international partnerships, and 14,617 students enrolled in FHSU’s affiliated technical schools.

Mason then talked about FHSU’s strengths.

“We now have guaranteed admissions pathways, so that any student who completes their community college degree in nursing, clinical psychology, and school psychology will automatically get enrolled,” she said.

She also mentioned how academic pathways, efficiencies, and student-focused work with the FHSU affiliates.

Mason also spoke about new projects, such as the cadaver lab and the extension on Stroup Hall, and projects that are being worked on, such as the Forsyth Library renovation.
