Schedule changes have been announced for four of Fort Hays State’s sports this week due to inclement weather forecasted in the state of Kansas. Women’s and Men’s Basketball at Emporia State has been pushed to Thursday (Feb. 13) night. The softball doubleheader with Bethany College for Wednesday (Feb. 12) in Hays has been postponed, while Women’s Wrestling will not be making the trip to Hastings College on Wednesday (Feb. 12) for the double dual scheduled with Hastings and Chadron State.
Women’s and Men’s Basketball Pushed to Thursday Night
Fort Hays State Women’s and Men’s Basketball games at Emporia State have been pushed back a day to Thursday, February 13. Start times of the contests remain the same with the women at 5:30 p.m. and then the men at 7:30 p.m. It will be the second meeting with the Hornets this season after both Tiger teams were victorious in Hays. The tip to Emporia will be part of a road swing in Kansas this week for the Tigers, which also includes games at Newman University on Saturday afternoon.
Softball vs. Bethany Postponed
Fort Hays State Softball has postponed its doubleheader scheduled against Bethany College on Wednesday (Feb. 12), due to inclement weather forecasted for the Hays area. Coaches of both teams will search for a potential make-up date in the future.
Next up on the schedule for the Tigers is the Raising Cane’s Softball Festival in the Edmond/Oklahoma City area, February 14-16. Keep an eye on fhsuathletics.com for any further changes to the schedule. The first home date on the FHSU schedule is now February 25, a doubleheader with Southwestern Oklahoma State.
Women’s Wrestling Trip to Hastings Canceled
Due to the winter storm predicted to set into the Hays and surrounding Kansas area late Tuesday night and throughout Wednesday, FHSU Women’s Wrestling has canceled its trip to Hastings, Nebraska on February 12. There will be no make-up date for the duals with both Hastings and Chadron State.
Next up on the schedule for women’s wrestling is the NCWWC Regional, scheduled for Saturday, February 22 in Denton, Texas.
