The Great Bend High School Panther Jazz group opens the fall concert with the Duke, the Fool, the M’Wandishi, the Hub Cap, and some Chick concert. GBHS Panther Jazz director Grant Mathews conducts the ensemble in a performance of “A Day in the Life of a Fool.” Michael Zamarripa, Madelyn Harrington, Johnny Currall Perez, Randy Weber, and Armando Gonzales perform the trumpets behind the Anderson Luttrell, Keegan Roblyer, Tyler Scheuerman, and Benton Jeska on trombones. The GBHS Panther Jazz ensemble perform in the joint concert with Fort Hays jazz bands. The Panther Jazz ensemble perform “Armando’s Rhumba” by Chick Corea. Daniel Zamarripa, Brandon Morgan, and Aaron Ramirez perform the saxophones. Grant Mathews performs percussion. Dawson McNeal, Adam Ward, and Jackson Byerly of the FHSU Small Jazz Group perform “Sister Sadie” by Horace Silver. Brad Dawson conducts the FHSU Jazz Ensemble. Byerly performs a solo. The Jazz Ensemble stand for applause after performing “Tiger of San Pedro” by John LaBarbera.
