Circle K International hosted their Notes of Joy: Encouraging Words for Little Leaders recently. An event where volunteers write positive and inspiring notes to elementary school children. CKI Ambassador Diane Hernandez stated that “CKI is all about service, leadership, and fellowship and today we are doing a service.” Hernandez greeted all of the volunteers and gave a rundown of what the event was about.
For this event, volunteers were writing to O’Loughlin Elementary 5th-grade students. They were encouraged to write as much as they wanted and to be as creative as possible. Morgan Foos is the service chair for CKI. When asked what she wished someone would have written to her in 5th grade she said, “I wish that somebody would have told me to stick by the friends who make you feel like your best self,” Foos said.  CKI President Payton Phillips spoke a little about why she joined the club. “I joined because I care about giving back to others and serving the hays community.”
