KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State senior Morgan Brasser was named the latest MIAA Women’s Golfer of the Week, announced Wednesday (March 6) by the league office.
Brasser tied for the best finish amongst MIAA competitors at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational this week, turning in rounds of 72 and 76 to finish the week at 8-over 148, tied for fifth place overall. The senior carded six birdies across the 36-hole tournament, second-most in the field. Brasser shared the MIAA Athlete of the Week honor with Emma Shelley, whom she tied for fifth in the event.
This is Brasser’s fifth-career weekly honor from the MIAA. The finish was her fourth top-five finish of the season and the 14th of her career. Her season average now sits at 74.25, which would be the best single-season stroke average in program history.
