Men’s soccer loses to Southern Nazarene

BETHANY, Okla. – The Fort Hays State Tigers faced off against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm on Saturday night (Sept. 23). The contest ended with a 2-0 loss for the Tigers, making them 1-1 in conference play and 2-5 overall. On the other side, Southern Nazarene improved to 4-2-2 overall and 2-0 in the GAC.

The Crimson Storm took the lead in the match when Bruno Fereira found the net in the 33rd minute. SNU led 1-0 at the half. In the 59th minute, the Crimson Storm solidified their lead with another goal. Alvaro Sanchez capitalized on an assist from Unaiz Shajani, sealing the victory.

Tadhg Walsh led the Tigers with three shots, while Luca Garcia had two. Ben Dixon made four saves in goal for the Tigers.

The Tigers hit the road for a pair of matches next week in Arkansas, facing off against Ouachita Baptist (Thur.) and Harding (Sat.).
