Tunnel of Oppression exhibit will be on FHSU Campus tomorrow

Fort Hays State University Student Engagement is hosting a “Tunnel of Oppression” event on Thursday morning.

The purpose of the event is to educate students on topics that are happening in society and other places in the world.

“It’s necessary to have [the Tunnel of Oppression] now so everyone that goes to the event is aware of issues going on throughout the country,” said Misael Trejo, a Student Engagement graduate student.

Student organizations like Us 4 You, Black Student Union, Gay and Sexuality Alliance, and Teachers of Tomorrow, are partnering with Student Engagement to put on topics for students to walk through and experience. It is important for students to come with an open mind in order to fully understand the topics and how they impact others.

Food will be provided for the first one hundred attendees. The event sign-up can be found on TigerLink.

The Tunnel of Oppression will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Black and Gold Room in the Memorial Union.
