Lopers top FHSU volleyball

KEARNEY, Neb. – The Fort Hays State volleyball team struggled to keep pace with No. 15 Nebraska-Kearney Tuesday evening (Nov. 2), falling to the Lopers in straight sets (12-25, 15-25, 8-25). The Tigers are now 12-14 on the year and 6-11 in MIAA play, while the Lopers are 21-5 overall and 13-5 in league action following their eighth-straight win.

Claire Olson led the Tigers with seven kills and two blocks, while Morgan Christiansen added five kills and two blocks. Riley Tinder contributed four kills, one block and a team-high 10 digs. Isabelle Reynolds picked up four kills and six digs.

Making her first start of the year, Olivia Hessman led the Tigers with 12 assists while adding three digs. Elysia Glowacz added nine assists and the only service ace for the Tigers, while Jaden Daffer matched Tinder with 10 digs to lead the Tigers.

Fort Hays State will return to Hays to play one final game inside Gross Memorial Coliseum on Friday (Nov. 5) when the Tigers host No. 2 Central Missouri. First serve on Senior Night is set for 6 p.m.
