Women’s golf competes in Oklahoma

EDMOND, Okla. – The Fort Hays State women’s golf team returned to the links this week at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational at Kickingbird Golf Club (March 8-9).

The par-70 course played at 5,821 yards for the tournament. With three individuals competing, Fort Hays State did not post a team score.

Morgan Brasser posted scores of 83 and 81 to finish in 37th place out of 89 individuals. Kerrigan Rudolph matched Brasser’s score of 83 in the opening round before firing a round of 84 in round two, finishing in a tie for 46th place. Kira Mestl improved eight shots from round one to round two, recording scores of 81 and 83 to finish in a tie for 64th.

Central Oklahoma won the event with a two-round total of 610, three shots better than Rogers State. UCO’s Emma Shelley took home the individual title with rounds of 75 and 70.

The Tigers will return to the Sooner State next week (March 15-16) for the Hillcat Classic at Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso, Okla.
