RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Fort Hays State’s Blake Arndt and Kieran Brown received Great American Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honors on Thursday, March 4. Arndt was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Brown was named Goalkeeper of the Week.

Arndt scored two goals in his debut with the Tigers, helping the team to a 4-0 win over Newman in their season opener. He provided what proved to be the game winner within the first nine minutes of the match and later picked up the team’s third goal in the 80th minute. Arndt had five shots in the match and both of his shots on goal went in the net.

Brown picked up a shutout victory in the 4-0 result against Newman. Brown had to save three shots in the match to preserve the shutout. He saved 75 percent of the shots taken by Newman in the match as the Tiger defense limited the Jets to just four shots in the match. Brown has three shutouts in his seven complete matches as a Tiger, which includes the 2019 season.

Arndt and Brown join James Doyle, the Defender of the Week from Northeastern State, as this week’s GAC Player of the Week honorees.
