Ellis County Health Department reports recent COVID numbers, 4 positive tests on FHSU campus last week

Ellis County Health Department COVID Update

The following statistics were reported by the Ellis County Health Department via their online COVID-19 Portal. Ellis County residents have been encouraged by the ECHD to use the portal for the most local and up-to-date information regarding the ongoing pandemic. Monday, October 26

New cases: 24

New Cases per Day, 7 Day Average: 8

Active COVID-19 Cases: 93

Active Hospilizations: 7

Recovered Cases: 1,261

Positive Tests: 1,289

Total Tests: 10,225

Percent of Positives: 12.6%

7 Day Average, Percent of Positives: 15.2%

Total Deaths: 18

Probable Cases: 83

Total Cases: 1372

Wednesday, October 28

New cases: 44

New Cases per Day, 7 Day Average: 9

Active COVID-19 Cases: 98

Active Hospilizations: 5

Recovered Cases: 1,300

Positive Tests: 1,325

Total Tests: 10,334

Percent of Positives: 12.8%

7 Day Average, Percent of Positives: 20.4%

FHSU COVID-19 Response

Every Tuesday, Fort Hays State University provides COVID-19 statistics on campus via their online COVID-19 Dashboard. According to the dashboard, from the period of October 17 to October 23, 15 COVID tests were performed in the Student Health Center with four returning positive. Two students were in on-campus quarantine during this time with one additional student in off-campus isolation. A total of 25 surveillance tests were conducted with none of them returning positive.
