Vitztum named to all-MIAA team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fort Hays State junior forward Jared Vitztum earned All-MIAA Third Team honors for the 2019-20 season, released by the conference office on Tuesday (Mar. 3). MIAA coaches select the team, with Vitztum among the top 15 players honored.

Vitztum led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding in 2019-20. He averaged 14.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. He was fourth in the MIAA in rebounds per game, while ranking 13th in scoring. He was also among the top ten in the conference for free-throw percentage at .795. Vitztum scored in double figures 22 times during the season with 25 points as his season and career high against Northeastern State in Hays. He was also very efficient beyond the 3-point line, hitting 51.1 percent of his attempts (47-of-92), and led the team in field goal percentage at .573. He also had four double-doubles this season in points and rebounds.

This is the first all-conference honor for Vitztum in his time at FHSU. He now has 720 points and 429 rebounds in his career as a Tiger.
