Women’s Leadership Project kicks off Women’s History Month with “Thank A Woman”

As the month of February came to a close, March welcomed warmer weather and the beginning of Women’s History Month. Women’s History Month is an annual declared month that highlights the contribution of women to events in history and contemporary society. In order to commemorate this month, the FHSU Women’s Leadership Project held a “Thank a Woman” table on February 28th at McMindes Hall. During the activity, they prepared a lot of beautiful envelopes and letter paper.

“They can fill out the packet about any inspirational women and send it off just to help show appreciation for women in real life,” Chelsey Trammell, who is the organizer of this activity said, “March is women’s history month this would be to help prepare for that, also this will help advertise an event we are doing next month too.”

There is also International Women’s day in March. Therefore, the upcoming projects of the Women’s leadership project are women around the world. There will be a table in the Memorial Union on March 9th, from 11 am to 1 pm.

“Since International Women’s day is on the Sunday before, so we are doing it that Thursday or Friday we are waiting for confirmation for the room to see if it’s still open but it will be in the evenings, it will have a movie and flower pots to paint and that will be upstairs for international women’s day,” Trammell said.
