Women’s track and field begins indoor campaign

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Fort Hays State men’s track and field team opened the indoor season Saturday (Dec. 7) at the Crimson and Gold Invitational, hosted by Pittsburg State University. One Tiger etched her name into the NCAA Division II provisional qualifier list on the day.

Rohey Singhateh cleared a provisional distance of 18-7.25 in the long jump, placing third in the event.

Summer Kragel cleared the 5-5 bar in the high jump to finish fifth. The mark is less than an inch off the provisional threshold.

Kayla Smith finished sixth in the triple jump, clearing a distance of 37-11.5, less than one foot off the provisional mark.

Lyric Holman earned an eighth-place finish in the 300m dash with a time of 41.55.

Faith Little ran the 800m run in 2:25.15, placing ninth in the event.


GOLDEN, Colo. – The Fort Hays State multi-athletes opened the season two days earlier than the rest of the squad, traveling to compete in the Mines Alumni Classic and Multi (Dec. 5). Peri Lange finished 13th out of 24 competitors in the pentathlon, compiling 3,150 points on the day. Mattie Rossi was close behind in 15th with 3,029 points while Rylee Gleason placed 16th after totaling 3,007 points across the five events.
