Fort Hays State women’s golf head coach Jerol DeBoer has announced the signing of Morgan Brasser in advance of the 2020-21 season. Morgan was a four-time medalist at the state tournament for Andale (Kan.) High School, wrapping up an impressive high school career with a 4A state championship last month.

Brasser finished in the top three at the Kansas 4A State Championships all four years, placing third as a freshman in 2016 and finishing runner-up the next two years as a sophomore and junior before taking the title as a senior. She was a three-time regional champion and a three-time AVCTL league champion.

Brasser turned in a scoring average of 73.3 during her junior campaign before wrapping up her senior year with an average score of 73.8. Her low round of the year was a 68 at the Cheney Invitational at Cherry Oaks Golf Course. Brasser also found success on the junior circuit, winning the 2019 KJGA Tour Championship over the summer.

Brasser is a two-sport athlete for the Indians, transitioning from the course to the court to play basketball over the winter. She also excels in the classroom, earning recognition as a Kansas Honor Scholar thanks to her 4.0 GPA. She plans to study nursing at Fort Hays State.

“I’m excited and looking forward to Morgan joining our team,” said DeBoer. “She will be a strong addition to the squad for years to come. Morgan is one of the top golfers in the state, and I am confident she will be the same for us at the collegiate level. She is clearly a hard worker on and off the course, as is evident by her 4.0 GPA.”
