Jets WR faces season-ending injury

By HAILEY CHAPMAN

The New York Jets face a tough blow to their offense with Quincy Enunwa’s season-ending neck injury during Sunday’s game against the Bills.

While Enunwa is inevitably out for the remainder of this season, it is still uncertain whether or not the injury will cost his career. Prior to the injury, Enunwa had suffered from neck issues and was receiving physical therapy to return to full health.

The Jets will suffer greatly after losing a player they recently signed to a long-term contract. Of Enunwa, Jets head coach Adam Gase said the team was ready to showcase his versatility and endurance on the field.

As a veteran on the team, Enunwa was one of only three solid and proven players within the receivers, according to the Jets organization. Those remaining include Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson, whom the Jets will now have to put their full trust in to salvage their long-term goals.

Following the injury, the Jets were relayed even more pressure to secure their new deal with the Patriots Demaryius Thomas. After successfully moving forward through physical procedures, the trade can now be made official to strengthen the offense within the Jets.

Gase and Thomas have a history, having been a duo when both were with the Denver Broncos for four years. The veteran, however, has been on a steady health decline the past few years, making the trade risky, and further proving the detrimental loss Enunwa will be.

The Jets will face their next barrier with the Cleveland Browns on Monday night.
