Larks dominating league entering Park City series

The Hays Larks begin a home series this evening as they face the Park City Rangers beginning at 7 p.m. at Larks Park.

The Larks are currently 4-0 in conference play and 9-1 overall — and have won eight in a row. As a team, their batting average is .347 with an on-base percentage of .458. Of the teams within the Jayhawk West conference, they rank first in record, batting average and earned-run average.

Within the lineup, Drake Angeron leads the team with a .412 batting average. Closely behind are Matt Cavanagh at .395 and Justin Lee at .366.

The pitching staff for the Larks has turned out stellar performances on the mound, led by Christian Pearcy who boasts a 2-0 record and 1.59 ERA. In his last home performance, Pearcy was able to guide the Larks out of jams in their 5-1 win against the Dodge City A’s.

Park City is currently 4-6 overall and 3-2 in the South Central division. They hold a team average of .207, led by Brody Hanna at .353. Pitching for the Rangers has struggled; however, Jake Cleveringa holds the lowest ERA at 2.45 with an 0-1 record on the mound.
