Baseball takes on Bronchos this weekend

Fort Hays State baseball gears up for a six-game road swing beginning this weekend (April 18-20) against Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla. The Tigers enter the series with a 3-31 overall record and sit at 2-22 in the MIAA, while the Bronchos come in at 24-10 on the season and 14-10 in conference action. First pitch from Wendell Simmons Field on Thursday is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Tigers are 16-16 all-time against the Bronchos, with a 7-10 record in Edmond. The Bronchos have won the last three, with the Tigers taking 1-of-3 in Edmond in 2017.

Landon Erway leads the offensive attack in hits (40), runs (21), triples (two), batting average (.357) and on-base percentage (.438). Ryan Grasser paces the team in RBI with 22 on the season.

Brock Ruminer leads the Bronchos with a .310 batting average, while Philip Scott paces the team in hits (42), doubles (nine) and walks (31). Ruminer ranks second in the MIAA with 24 stolen bases.
