Brackets released for NCAA DII wrestling championships

The brackets for the NCAA Division II Championships were released on Friday (Mar. 1). The Tigers have one wrestler that qualified for nationals which is set to take place in six days (Mar. 8-9) in Cleveland, Ohio. Junior Brandon Ball earned his third trip to nationals after winning the Super Region IV tournament last weekend (Feb. 23).

No. 1 ranked Brandon Ball (24-0) earned a spot in the 141-pound weight class. He is set to begin his tournament by taking on Dylan Nace of East Stroudsburg in the play-in match before the round of 16. There are seven other wrestlers that Ball has faced this season, two of which are on the top half of the 18-man bracket. Including Ball, nine of the 18 players are currently ranked in the nation.
