Tigers head to UCO looking for sole possession of 4th in MIAA

Fort Hays State Men’s Basketball begins its final regular season road trip in Edmond, Oklahoma on Thursday (Feb. 21) when it takes on Central Oklahoma. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm at Hamilton Field House. Fort Hays State has a chance to take over fourth place alone in the MIAA standings after a Lincoln loss on Tuesday evening.

Fort Hays State enters the game 15-9 overall and 9-6 in the MIAA. The Tigers are currently alone in fourth by a half game in the MIAA standings, but could make that a full game on Thursday with a win. Central Oklahoma is 10-14 overall and 3-12 in the MIAA, sitting at the bottom of the conference standings. UCO has only one conference win at home this year, coming against Southwest Baptist back on January 31. UCO is 1-5 in conference home games so far this year.

Brady Werth leads the Tigers in scoring at 16.2 points per game, reaching double figures in the last 15 games. He reached the 20-point mark in a game for the ninth time this season with 22 points against Lincoln this past Saturday. Devin Davis poured in a season-high 18 points for the second-straight game. He averages 8.6 points per game as the top scorer off the bench.

Adarius Avery leads UCO in scoring at 20 points per game. He scored in double figures in all 24 games this year and has 16 double-doubles to his credit in points and rebounds. He had a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds against the Tigers earlier this year.
