Women picked 7th, men 6th in indoor track poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) has released its 2019 indoor track and field preseason coaches’ poll. In the rankings, released Friday (Jan. 11), the Fort Hays State women were selected seventh, while the men were tabbed sixth. The men earned 73 points with the women gathering 78.

Last season, the Tiger men finished in sixth place at the MIAA championships while earning five All-MIAA honors with three champions. For the women, they also captured a sixth place finish with one champion and three All-MIAA mentions.

In both the men’s and women’s polls, Pittsburg State claimed the top spot in the conference with the women receiving 141 points and the men earned 121 points.
