Men’s golf finishes 18th at Blue Tiger Invite

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Fort Hays State men’s golf team finished 18th at the Blue Tiger Invite presented by Aflac (Oct. 15-16), hosted at the Jefferson City Country Club, a 7,112-yard, par-72 golf course. The Tigers shot rounds of 326 and 319 finishing 10th among MIAA teams.

Connor Schultz (81-78) and Bryce Cowan (80-79) each tied for 68th individually. Schultz carded four birdies, while Cowan posted three birdies on his scorecards. Mac McNish finished in a tie for 73rd after carding rounds of 81 and 79. McNish finished the week with three birdies. Grover fired off rounds of 84 and 83 to finish in a tie for 95th. Pete Carney shot rounds of 89 and 85.

Henderson State took the team title with an aggregate score of 585. Lindenwood led all MIAA squads and finished second with a score of 590 and Winona State (595) finished third. Yente Van Doren of Lindenwood claimed the individual title after posting a 2-under (142) score for the tournament.

The Tigers have wrapped up the fall portion of their wrap-around schedule. Fort Hays State will tee it up next at the Washburn Invitational in the spring (March 11-12) at the Topeka Country Club.
