A Hays teenager was the latest victim of criminal damage to a vehicle while she was driving Monday night along 41st Street in Hays.
The driver’s vehicle was hit by an apparent object allegedly thrown from an approaching pickup. The windshield was shattered, and the driver was able to avoid serious injury.
But it’s not the first report of such incidents in the same area.
On May 30, the Hays Police Department was alerted to a similar incident at about 10:30 p.m. on 41st Street near Autumn Lane. That driver’s windshield was broken from an item thrown from an approaching vehicle as well.
That report alerted Hays PD to be on the lookout for an older white pickup with a stripe on it.
Monday night’s incident also was reported along 41st Street and in a similar fashion.
