Men 14th, women 16th in latest track poll

NEW ORLEANS – In the final set of rankings prior to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships released on Monday (May 21), the Fort Hays State women are No. 14 and the men are No. 16. The women moved up one notch in the rankings, while the men maintained their position for a second week in a row.

Eight men and six women will represent FHSU at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina this week (Thursday, May 24 – Saturday, May 26). On the men’s side, Brett Meyer (1,500 meters), Kolt Newell and Lucas Broxterman (high jump), TJ Dozier (discus), Malcom Gardner (200 meters), Decano Cronin (800 meters), and Jake Morrow and Sam Dreiling (pole vault) will represent the Tigers. The top performances by Meyer, Cronin, and Morrow this spring rank among the top 10 in their respective events.

On the women’s side, Selam Ball (pole vault), Kelly Wycoff (200 and 400 meters), Amber Forbest (100 and 200 meters), Courtney Geiger (discus), and Madison Wolf and Alexcia Deutscher (javelin) rank represent FHSU. The top efforts by Wycoff, Wolf, and Deutscher this spring rank among the top 10 performances nationally in their respective events.
