On Monday, April 30, Tiger Media Network became aware of a Facebook post by a Fort Hays State University student with allegations of a suspicious individual on campus. The post was as follows:

Other social media posts followed soon after with descriptions of the man being a Caucasian male with short blonde hair, wearing a ball cap.

While the FHSU Campus Police has not released any official statement on the matter as of yet, Director of Police and Security Chief Ed Howell did comment that there are no credible threats and anyone who feels threatened should come forward immediately.

TMN would like to encourage all members of the FHSU and local Hays community to remain vigilant on any indication of sexual assault in our communities. Though Sexual Assault Awareness month for this year is at an end, we should not turn a blind eye to the overall issue at any time. You are encouraged to take manners of safety that helps you as individual feel safe, and all concerns should be brought forward through the appropriate entities.

All FHSU students are to be aware that campus police does have an officer on duty at all times. Their office is located in Custer Hall, Room 211, open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, and can be contacted by calling 785-628-5304. Anyone needing to contact campus police outside office hours should call  785-625-1011.

However, if you are faced with an emergency, please call 911.
