FHSU SGA Holds Meeting Over New Gun Policy

BY JADEN MOUNT

On Thursday, September 14, the Fort Hays State University Student Government Association held a Q&A over the new gun policy, which was enacted due to a law passed through the Kansas State Government, allowing concealed carry permits on public universities.

With assistance from the FHSU Police Department, SGA President Emily Brandt led the discussion over how permitted students should go about with their weapon on campus.

“I think that, regardless of the policy,” stated Brandt, “It is always important that students know and understand policies that impact their safety.”

The next SGA meeting will occur this Thursday, September 21, at 7 p.m. in the Black & Gold Room of the Memorial Union. FHSU students are encouraged to attend in order to keep informed on student issues.
