North Korea Launches Missile Over Japan

BY KRAIG PIERCE

North Korea doubled down on their missile launches Monday morning. The rogue nation launched a missile over Japan, according to the Pentagon early Monday morning. North Korea launched the missile from one of their silos near the area of Sunan, towards the sea east of the Korean Peninsula. This missile was launched without notice, as is the case with most of the missile tests conducted by North Korea. Although this missile test is important to many countries around the world, it is most important to the Japanese, who have no nuclear arsenal in place due to Japan’s non-nuclear weapons policy, which forbids the country from having nuclear weapons set into place due to their defeat in WWII.

The Pentagon, along with NORAD and the Japanese government will be providing the public with more information as it becomes available. What is known is that the missile flew over the Tohoku region of Japan (Northern region of Japan). The Japanese government sent out warnings on television and cell phones, urging citizens in the region to seek shelter. Fortunately, the missile fell into the ocean, but as long as North Korea continues to act maliciously, it is unlikely that any sort of leniency will be given to them in regards to UN sanctions and embargos.
