Tiger Tennis Falls 8-1 at No. 18 Ranked Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Fort Hays State Tennis fell in its first conference match of the season on Saturday (Mar. 19) by a score of 8-1 at Northeastern State. The 18th-ranked RiverHawks improved to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-0 in the MIAA, while FHSU moved to 6-5 overall and 0-1 in the MIAA.

The Tigers picked up their only point by receiving a forfeit win at No. 6 singles. The RiverHawks rolled to straight set wins in five singles matches and allowed just a total of three points to the Tigers in doubles matches. Haley Weidemann scored the most points in her singles match, falling 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 5 position. The No. 3 doubles team of Jessica Johnson and Taylor Noel fell 8-2.

FHSU returns to action on Sunday with another MIAA contest at Central Oklahoma.
