A Piece of Africa Comes to Hays

A jaw-dropping African-style dance and acrobatic show recently featured on America’s Got Talent, came to the Fort Hays State University campus for an Encore Series show. On Friday February 26th, 2016 Cirque Zuma Zuma will be performing at Beach Schmidt.

After sell-out seasons in Europe and extended season in Australia, this amazing African-style Cirque du Soliel show has made its way to America. Traditional dance and acrobatics in Africa date back to over 2,500 years ago; the performers of Cirque Zuma Zuma continue on those traditions through their training, artistry, and touring performances. Established in 2005, Cirque Zuma Zuma’s mission is to teach the world about African cultures.

Cirque Zuma Zuma consists of 120 loyal performers, who have a family business feel about them. The show’s training school is in Kenya, Las Vegas, and Tanzania. Their performers have been trained at African Acrobats International, and then toured the world. “Our show is a high-energy dance act, part Cirque du Soleil, part Harlem Globetrotters, above all, it is fast paced and full of acrobatic ingenuity.” The training program is so good, AAI has produced performers for over a dozen different shows similar to Cirque Zuma Zuma.
