Hays High’s Isaiah Nunnery Signs with FHSU Men’s Basketball

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State head men’s basketball coach Mark Johnson has announced the signing of Isaiah Nunnery for the 2016-17 season. Nunnery will play for the hometown Black and Gold as he is currently a senior at Hays High School.

As a junior in 2014-15, Nunnery scored in double figures 18 times for Hays High School and produced the fifth-most assists in a single season in the school’s history. He is a 6-foot, 3-inch guard. Nunnery has been playing varsity since his freshman year. He was part of the 2013-14 Hays team that went undefeated in the regular season and finished fourth at the Kansas Class 5A State Tournament.Isaiah is the son of Tim and Christin Nunnery, who were both athletes at Fort Hays State in the 1990s. Tim played basketball and Christin played volleyball. Tim played under Mark Johnson when Johnson was an assistant coach for the Tigers.
