HAYS, Kan. – It took 110 minutes to determine an outcome in Hays, Kan., Friday night (Oct. 23) during a non-conference match between conference foes. With a late goal in regulation, Fort Hays State forced overtime and eventually a 1-1 draw with Washburn.

Washburn found the back of the net first, when Paige Swanson received a pass from Emily Stauffer at the top of the box and beat FHSU goalkeeper Abbie Flax in the upper right hand corner just 10:26 into the first half.

The score remained 1-0 for the next 76 minutes until CheyAnn Queener found Kelsey Steffens 16 yards out, and after a shifty move to her right tied the game at the 86:53 mark.

The tie puts the Ichabods at 4-7-4 overall and the Tigers are now 7-7-1 overall. Flax moved to 2-1-1 overall on the season at goalkeeper.

Next up for the Tigers is an MIAA match on Sunday (Oct. 25) when they take on the Emporia State Hornets in Hays, Kan. at 2:00 pm.
