TMN Radio returns to the airwaves with live shows

August 1962, the campus radio station, KFHS, began operations giving students practical experience.  KFHS Radio was connected to the Memorial Union and used the public address system.  Fast forward 53 years.  Broadcasting from Hammond Hall to the world via the Internet, TMN Radio, the student staffed radio station, returns to the airwaves this week with live in studio shows.

Sunday Radio Memories, 2-3pm, Sundays

“You had your time, you had the power, You’ve yet to have your finest hour, Radio, Radio.”  ‘Radio Ga Ga‘, Queen.  Join Todd and Jennifer every Sunday as they take you back in time with Sunday Radio Memories.  Remembering the music, Golden Age of Radio programs, and their memories from growing up listening to radio.

The Dark Side, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, 12-1pm

Beware of the Dark Side!  The Dark Side with DJ Dead Kat focuses on the world of alternative music. Playing well known artists like Bring Me the Horizon as well as introducing upcoming artists that are just getting started.  DJ Dead Kat also will share news from the alternative music world including upcoming concerts in and around the Kansas area.

The Louis D Show, Tuesdays, 7:30-9pm

Join DJ Louie D as he springs into the hottest topics and expresses his opinions in today’s news, sports and politics.  Jam along as he spins some of his favorite music.  Tweet into the show using the hashtag #LouieDShow.

The Screening Room, Wednesdays, 7-8pm

There are over 330,000 movies on planet Earth.  There are only three brave souls that can truly judge their worth.  DJ TV, DJ Mad Mike, and Daniel “The Rantman” Stainbrook.  These warriors of the silver screen will keep you in the know on what’s good, bad, or just downright ugly.  Tune in for their reviews and find out what films will be Screening Room approved.

The Reagan B Show, Wednesdays, 8-9pm

Transitioning from high school to college can be a difficult road for students.  Reagan B is here to help.  He and his guests will be offering avenues to help students be successful and how to avoid struggling in school and making irresponsible decisions.  Reagan B will also look at education and history in other countries and how technological advances affect the world positively…and negatively.

DJ Clay’s Chill Out, Thursdays, 8-9p

It’s going to be chill/high-bass music.

Music Appreciation, Fridays, 7-8:30pm

DJ TV and DJ Mad Mike bring Fort Hays State campus rocking tunes that get your head bobbing.  From rock to metal, they appreciate many types of music.  They will throw in some twists and turns to keep things fresh.
