GREEN BAY, Wisc. – Former standout Tiger receiver Ed Williams signed a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers on Monday (Aug. 3). Williams, who received tryouts this summer with several NFL teams, finally landed with one of the league’s most storied franchises.

Williams was an All-MIAA First Team selection for the Tigers in 2014 as a senior, finishing with 53 receptions for 946 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 17.8 yards per catch. He also received All-Super Region 3 honors from Don Hansen and Beyond Sports Network. In his three-year career at FHSU he finished with 1,617 receiving yards, averaging 18.8 yards per catch, and 14 touchdowns.

Williams is the second Tiger to be signed by an NFL team this summer. Nathan Lindsey, who played for two years at FHSU as a defensive back, was signed by the Detroit Lions back in May.
