Budget Shortfall Could Lead to Furloughs at Pitt State

Pittsburg State University held an emergency meeting this morning (June 4) addressing the likely furlough of all nonessential state employees due to the state’s budget shortfall.  Kansas lawmakers have until Friday to come to an agreement on covering the state budget shortfall.  The furloughs could affect nearly 850 full time employees at Pitt State.  Student employees would also be among those furloughed.
