This is the first time that Sarah Polifka, owner of Chestnut Street Kitchens, has ever worked with Alpha Kappa Psi. Polifka’s shop has been around for two years, but she’s only been making and selling cheesecakes for Chestnut Street Kitchens for one year.

“We’re excited to work with the business,” said Taylor. “A lot of people had told me about a lot of great things about her. Her cheesecake is phenomenal, it tastes great.”

Cheesecake-making has deep roots in Polifka’s past. She’s been making them for years.

“My sister bought me a recipe book and we have a lot of family functions,” said Polifka. “So I started making them for family functions.”

Chestnut Street Kitchens has other specialties besides cheesecake, including varieties of coffee beans, salsas, dip mixes, cake mixes, teas, bath and body products, and assortments of gifts.

The money raised for Alpha Kappa Psi goes toward their general fraternity functions and helps pay for future events and activities.

Chestnut Street Kitchens is located on 1310 Main Street, in the downtown district of Hays. To contact the shop, call (785) 625-4945, or visit the Facebook page under Chestnut Street Kitchens.
