On March 28, the FHSU Save the Kids organization hosted a kindness event.

During the event, Save the Kids members painted and decorated rocks and wrote positive messages on them.

It was a relaxing evening while members listened to music and wrote inspiring notes on the kindness rocks.

A special thank you goes out to Hays Greenhouse and Reidel’s Garden Center for donating 25 rocks each towards the Save the Kids Kindness Project. Thank you to FHSU Student Engagement for allowing the organization to borrow painting supplies.

With these generous donations, Save The Kids was able to distribute 50 kindness messages on the Fort Hays State University campus. The project meant so much to us because when someone is having a rough day, it is a delightful feeling to pick up a shiny kindness rock with a positive message to encourage students to stay strong, keep going and stay true to who they are.

On April 3, the FHSU Save the Kids organization hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for Tiger Tots.

During the event, the organization read an Easter story to the children. Following the reading, the STK members helped the Tiger Tots finish their handmade Easter baskets.

Following the basket-making, the children lined up to head outside. Easter bunny tracks lead to the Tiger Tots playground, towards the gate, where 95 Easter eggs were hidden. To the children’s surprise, the Easter Bunny was waiting for them on the other side of the playground gate, along with the Easter eggs.

After seeing the smiling faces of the 17 children, the Save the Kids members were filled with joy. The Tiger Tots children ran to the Easter Bunny and shared a big hug. After collecting five eggs each during the Easter Egg Hunt, the Tiger Tots took a photo with the Save the Kids members and the Easter Bunny.
