Faculty and staff of Fort Hays State University do more than just teach students in the classroom or on ZOOM. One of the ways the FHSU Foundation and the Student Government Association sends appreciation to the staff and faculty is by holding their annual Cinnamon Roll Drive-Thru.
“It’s a thank-you event to faculty and staff for supporting students and continuing to donate as a reminder that efforts are still going on and the staff’s efforts do not go unnoticed,” Student Body President Haley Reiter said.
The goal of the Cinnamon Roll Drive-Thru is to let the staff know they are appreciated and for students to realize so many faculty and staff members are invested in their academics but also in their success. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Reiter and Bryson Homman, student body vice president, will be representing the students of FHSU by helping run the event.
This year, the drive will be held from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday in the Gross Memorial Coliseum parking lot to kick off the FHSU Campus Campaign.
The Campus Campaign encourages current and previous faculty and staff to continue their donations in helping support scholarships and opportunities for students of Fort Hays State University. The goal for the Campus Campaign as a whole is to continue the support and to give back to those who are giving.
Staff can arrive at the parking lot at any point during the event to receive cinnamon rolls, free of cost, as thanks for their support during the year. This year cinnamon rolls were provided by JD’s Chicken.
