On a Friday of September 28th, Dodge City held events in the downtown that happen every final Friday of the month. “Final Friday” features area artists showing their work — such as performing and creative arts — in western Kansas. Most of the artist works are presented in visual locations like the Carnegie Art Center, Boot Hill Distillery, Dodge City Brewing, Depot Theater, and the 2nd Ave. Art Guild.
The Carnegie Art Center featured Bob Denson who has been a photographer for sixty-five years and has been taking photographs of the landscape wilderness in Kansas. Denson is also involved with the Gallery XII for eleven years.
In the 2nd Ave Art Guild, the featured artist was Sheri Cook, who is also a photographer. Cook shares her artwork of photography with the community of Dodge City, along with other artists like Kris Ball, Professor of arts in Dodge City Community College, Jennifer Nolan, the painted ladies, and the guild members.
If you would like to go to Dodge City and see these amazing art pieces, check out their Facebook page at 2nd Ave Art Guild and Gallery and give them a follow for more updates on future events.
