FHSU v Washburn Live Stats

Fort Hays State welcomes Washburn to Larks Park on Wednesday (Mar. 30) for a mid-week MIAA matchup at 4 pm. This will be the second meeting of the season between the Tigers and the Ichabods, as the Tigers took the first contest by the score of 8-1 on March 22. Fort Hays State enters with an overall record of 13-14 and an MIAA record of 7-9, while Washburn sits at 14-12 overall and 9-7 in the MIAA.

The game will be available on radio at 1400 AM (KAYS) for the Hays listening area, or listen online.

The Tigers are currently on a four-game win streak and look to keep it rolling thanks to red-hot offense. During the streak, the Tigers have hit .388 as a team, averaging 8.75 runs and 2.25 home runs per game, all while holding opponents to just 3.25 runs per game.

The punch of Austin Unrein and Alex Weiss in the middle of the order has been a nightmare for opponents recently. Both sit on top of the MIAA leaderboard in hits with 46 each, and Unrein finds himself sixth in RBI with 34. Weiss sits second in the MIAA with a .430 batting average and has consecutively reached base in the last 16 games.

Tiger pitching has also performed well of late, holding opponents to just one run in two of four contests. D.J. Carr and Logan Herd each threw complete games with just one run allowed, Carr a nine-inning complete game against Washburn and Herd a seven-inning complete game against Lincoln. The complete games occurred in consecutive contests last week.

Washburn enters with a team batting average of .289, averaging 7.6 runs per game this season. David Gauntt leads the Ichabod offense with a .373 batting average and is tied for third in the MIAA with nine home runs. The speed on the bases from Kyle Carnahan has also been a big asset for Washburn this season as he leads the conference with 20 stolen bases.
