Investigation into FHSU student’s death has begun

Fort Hays State University police are investigating the unattended death of a student this morning in a residence hall.

In a news release from Tom Drees, the Ellis County Attorney, 18-year-old Hunter Lile was found dead in his room at Custer Hall, home of the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science.

An investigation has begun with the FHSU Police and Hays Police Department working with the 23rd Judicial District coroner, Dr. Lyle Noordhoek.  Dr. Noordhoek’s preliminary investigation determined  the cause of death was suicide.
