FHSU Greek Life announces that Homecoming 2015 at Fort Hays State University will officially begin with a bonfire and pep rally on Thursday, Oct. 1, sponsored by Alumni Association and the FHSU fraternity and sorority community.
Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. on the east lawn near the Robbins Center. The event features speeches from the coaches of the athletic teams as well as appearances by the FHSU cheerleaders, Tiger Debs, President Martin and Victor E. Tiger. The public is invited.
The rally begins with the Victor E. March of on-campus students to the Robbins Center, which will start at 7 p.m. at Stadium Place Apartments and wind its way across campus stopping at all residence. The march will meet the band at Hammond Hall to begin the final procession to the bonfire.
There will be a canned food drive taking place that evening as well. Students and the public and invited to bring canned items or give cash donations to support the Tiger Food Exchange.
This year, the annual t-shirt exchange will take place September 29-30 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. both days. Students are encouraged to bring t-shirts of other universities to tables in the Memorial Union. They can trade these t-shirts for a Tiger Gold on Friday shirt. Shirts in good condition will be donated to those in need and worn shirts will be burnt at the bonfire. Fifty t-shirts will be donated by Eagle Communications.
