Fort Hays State University women’s track and field finished 10th at the 2015 Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Indoor Track and Field Championships, held in Warrensburg, Mo. After scoring six points on Saturday, FHSU generated nine more points on Sunday to finish with a total of 15. Rachael Monteil had the highest placing of any FHSU woman on Sunday, finishing sixth in the shot put. She had a throw of 43’4.25″ on her third effort of the day.Lexi Riedel finished seventh in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 7.88 seconds. That was just a tenth of a second off her prelim qualifying time from Saturday. Danielle Berry finished seventh in the high jump with a height of 5’3.75″. Ashli Dryden also finished seventh in the long jump with a distance of 17’8″. Each athlete received two team points for their efforts.
Central Missouri won the team championship by scoring 159 points. Lincoln was second with 142 and Pittsburg State finished third with 92.
A handful of FHSU women have posted provisional marks this season and they wait to see if they make the cut for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, coming in two weeks in Birmingham, Ala.
